Wostenholm 10" California Bowie Knife with Rosewood Handle
An opportunity to buy one of our hand-made I*XL Bowie knives from stock.
The blade is made from finest 3/8" mirror polished carbon steel. This knife features markings popular in the California gold rush era. The marks are applied using traditional deep acid etching and the blade bears the words "Equal Rights" beneath the Eagle and "Geo. Wostenholm & Son. Celebrated CALIFORNIA KNIFE". The ricasso is stamped with the world famous I*XL trademark and Made in SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. The reverse of the ricasso is stamped with the familiar 1800's wording "G. WOSTENHOLM & SON / WASHINGTON WORKS / NONE ARE GENUINE BUT THOSE MARKED I*XL"
The classic coffin-shaped handle has traditional rosewood scales which are fitted to the through tang with nickel silver linings and pins. The rosewood scales are polished and shaped by hand to reveal the beautiful wood grain and to match the nickel silver guard.
Uniquely numbered and supplied with a matching numbered certificate of authenticity and history booklet.
